Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass operation

A gastric bypass operation is done for severe obesity and related problems. It is done through the laparoscopic approach – through small key holes. Thus the patient is up and about in less then 24 hours after the operation. The patients lose about 80% of their excess weight after this operation (approximately 30- 50 kg) over a period of 6 to 12 months. This is the most duarble form of weight loss. At our center we have been performing this operation for the past 8 years with great success and results.

Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

The operation shown here shows laparoscopic removal of gall bladder for stone disease. This is an operation performed routinely for the removal of gall stone affected gall bladders. Typically this operation takes 15 to 20 minutes and the patient is discharged from the hospital with in 24 hours of the operation. There are no tubes put in any of the body orifices after this operation so the patient does not have the inconvinience of a urinary catheter or nasal tube or abdominal drain tube.
